BCA report for a shed

Class 10a sheds are simple until they are close to a boundary, next to a house, or used for something other than storage. Fire separation, structure to the wind region, and whether the use pushes it into another class are the three questions.

Questions

Does a shed need a BCA report?

Usually only when it is large, close to a boundary or attached to the house. It is the cheapest way to stop a certifier's request for information.

What drawings do you need?

Site plan, floor plans, elevations and sections as PDF. For alterations, as-built drawings of the existing building as well.

Do you inspect the site?

No. The report is prepared from the drawings, which is what makes the fee fixed and the delivery 72 hours.
